Do all of the members live in Southlake?

No!  We have members who live in many neighboring communities, including Keller, Colleyville, Trophy Club, Roanoke, Westlake, Grapevine, North Richland Hills, and Fort Worth. We do not require members to live in Southlake. We only ask that they have a vested interest in our community by living or working nearby.

Are all of your events in Southlake?

Not all of them, but most are. Our monthly luncheon programs are currently held in Southlake, and our social events are held at a variety of locations either in Southlake or a neighboring community. Occasionally, we host an event that is further away—such as our shopping trip to Canton—and we provide transportation.

How Many People are in SWC?

On average over the past few years, we have had between 120-160 paid members. Of these, about 80-120 regularly attend monthly luncheons.

What does SWC actually do?

We do a lot! Our primary mission is fundraising and service for a number of community organizations in NE Tarrant County, in support of women, children, and families. We accomplish this in several ways. First, we host Art in the Square every April, with all proceeds directly contributed to our accepted charities. To date, we have donated over $3.6M in the last 25 years. We also do hands-on work with these and other organizations, either by collecting needed items, hosting our annual Senior Center Valentine’s Luncheon, and much more. And finally, we facilitate the annual CISD School Supply Sale, where we sell pre-packaged school supply kits for grades PK-8 at a number of local schools. Proceeds from the sale are re-distributed to the participating schools each January.

But the SWC is about more than community service. We are also a great entryway into the Southlake community for women of all ages, providing a welcoming atmosphere where women can socialize, learn from each other, and develop lasting relationships—both personal and professional. Who should join SWC?

Women of all ages, whether they work outside the home or not, who:
 • Are new to the area or want to learn more about where they live
 • Have a rich history with our community
 • Want to meet new people
 • Want to network with other professionals
 • Are looking for more community involvement
 • Are interested in community service
 • Have special skills or interests to share
 • Just want to have fun!

Do I need to be . . . ?

Working? No!
A parent? No!

The diversity of our membership is part of what makes us a wonderful organization. Our members are married, single, widowed, and divorced. They are mothers, grandmothers, or have never been parents. They are doctors, lawyers, nurses, retired school teachers, real estate agents, designers, accountants, freelancers, stay-at-home moms, PTO volunteers, and more. We have members from Germany, Czech Republic, and England. Some have lived in Southlake for over 20 years, while others moved here a month ago.

All you need to be is yourself! We welcome you!

When can I join?

Any time! Our season and programs run from September – May, with occasional socials throughout the summer.  Typically, most members join in June-September.

How much time and money are involved in membership?
The cost is very straightforward. Active Membership is $100 per year.  We do offer Corporate Memberships and Community Partner Memberships at different prices.

Most monthly luncheons are around $35-50 for paid members, $45-60 for guests. These costs always include a fabulous lunch and our program. Additional optional expenses include bar beverages and twice-yearly raffle tickets.

Socials are either free or around the $10-20 range, depending on the event. Most include food or drinks in the cost.

Non-members or guests may attend our events, but often at a higher cost. SWC membership pays for itself very quickly!

As for time commitment, this will vary depending on your willingness to participate. We hold monthly luncheons, which we ask all Active Members to attend. Beyond that, Active Members are only required to work two shifts at Art in the Square (about 6 hours total, once a year). However, if you become involved in a committee—and we hope that you do!—you can spend more time each week on a variety of activities. It’s entirely up to you, but we sincerely hope that our members become as passionate about our events and our community as their schedules will allow.
We have full-time working women, moms of young children, grandmothers—the whole gamut! Everyone finds a place in our organization, and we work to accommodate everyone’s needs to the best of our ability.

To add a new FAQ follow these steps: 
1. Manage FAQs from your site dashboard or in the Editor 
2. Add a new question & answer 
3. Assign your FAQ to a category 
4. Save and publish.

You can always come back and edit your FAQs.

Can I insert an image, video, or GIF in my FAQ?

Yes. To add media follow these steps: 
1. Manage FAQs from your site dashboard or in the Editor 
2. Create a new FAQ or edit an existing one 
3. From the answer text box click on the video, image or GIF icon 
4. Add media from your library and save.

Question 10

How do I edit or remove the 'Frequently Asked Questions' title?

You can edit the title from the FAQ 'Settings' tab in the Editor.  
To remove the title from your mobile app go to the 'Site & App' tab in your Owner's app and customize.
